Summary:
The Associate Director works with the Director to set the vision for the McCormick Office of Career Development (MCD) and provides operational management of the Cooperative Engineering Education (Co-op) and Professional Engineering Internship Program. This position supports students' career planning activities through career advising and placement assistance to students.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to setting the vision for McCormick student career development and recommends and initiates the development of program policies and procedures;
Under the guidance of the Director, leads the development of informational materials utilizing recommendations from office's Assistant Directors;
Builds working knowledge of industry employers and works closely with co-op and internship employers, building and nurturing relationships through consistent contact and responsiveness;
Advises undergraduate and graduate level students through one-on-one sessions to guide career related activities including resumes development, interviewing, networking, goal setting and job search strategies for MCD programs;
Maintains accurate records on student caseload;
Assists Director with caseload management among the office staff;
Develops presentations and delivers information to student groups on the policies and procedures of the Co-op and Professional Engineering Internship Program;
Oversees the activities of the MCD Advising Team;
Works closely with Director in establishing strategy as it relates to student advising operations;
Evaluates student data, using both quantitative and qualitative information in decision-making as it relates to advising operations;
Serves as MCD liaison and conducts outreach to relevant McCormick departments, student groups, faculty, and staff in promoting and educating constituents on MCD programs, policies and initiatives;
Represents the co-op and internship programs and supervise the co-op office in the absence of the Director;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Three to five years of industry and/or university experience in the area of recruitment and placement;
A master's degree in career counseling, human resources, psychology or related disciplines is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
Previous career advising experience with students in higher education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
