Assisted Living Main Function:
To assist and provide direction to residents with personal care which enables residents to maintain good personal hygiene, to carry out activities of daily living, to maintain good health and to participate in the activities of the community.

Responsibilities:

Scheduled Services:
Provides daily AM and PM check-in service Assists with or does resident personal laundry 2.
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, as required- provides assistance with:
Personal hygiene, grooming advice and assistance Dressing assistance Stand-by shower or full bathing assistance Handling and care of clothing and other personal property, including dentures, glasses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices Housekeeping tasks such as tidying, picking up, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning bathroom, changing/making be Daily or occasional tasks such as changing light bulbs, adjusting answering machines, adjusting thermostats, adjusting blinds, opening/closing windows, retrieving newspapers, mail, packages, assisting with mailing packages (through in-house mailroom) Escorting and transporting residents, transferring as needed Provides assistance to low vision residents by reading mail, menus, schedules, etc.
Reminds residents of activities and special events Health Maintenance and Safety Monitoring tasks Observes and reports perceived changes in resident's physical condition and cognitive/emotional status according to policies and procedures.
Monitors for and reports unusual occurrences, accidents or safety concerns and reports to Director of Assisted Living Reminds residents to take pre-dispensed, self-administered medications, observes residents and documents whether or not the resident takes the medications according to established policies and procedures Assists with incontinence management Responds with Public Safety and RN to emergency calls 4.
Dining:
Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining, such as setting up, assisting with walkers, delivering trays on an occasional basis to sick residents 5.
Activity Program:
As directed by Assisted Living Activities Coordinator, assists in planning, promoting and implementing activities 6.
Other:
Maintain resident confidentiality Maintain cleanliness of work stations Maintains duty logs for every resident and documents in these logs daily.
Respond to telephone calls as required by procedures Is aware of Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients.
Demonstrates behaviors and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies CPR Certified Education:
High School diploma or equivalent; Certified Nurses Assistant certificate a plus.
Participates in continuing education in-service training sessions.
Experience:
Work experience of one year with excellent attendance record.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older, tactful, courteous, diplomatic and exercise good judgement in all contacts with the public, demonstrated ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, ability to work as a team member, ability to document activities with forms provided.
Contacts:
Serves on interdisciplinary teams evaluating status of residents and planning to serve those residents to maintain their highest level of functioning.
Physical Demands:
Must be in good health and free of communicable disease Moderate physical effort will be required to perform duties Must be able to lift, push or pull at least 15 pounds Must be able to stoop and reach Working Conditions:
Works in a clean, well-lighted, well-equipped modern assisted living unit, occasional periods of time spent outdoors May be subjected to distractions and interruptions while working High degree of personal interaction IndeedSJ Location:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
